Around the world Muslims are celebrating Eid al-Fitr, the holy day that marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Eid is typically welcomed with joyful celebrations, congregational prayers, festivities, family gatherings, traditional foods, and beautiful new clothes.

For many Syrians—especially those who are finally able to return home after 14 years of exile—this Eid is a joyful celebration.

However, for those in Gaza, this will be the second Eid al-Fitr since the start of the war in the enclave. And yet they are still finding ways to gather, pray, and celebrate amidst the rubble.
